Making a Difference

The company’s activities provide benefit to people within East Anglia, needing low cost psychological therapies to improve their mental well-being. The company also provides opportunities for therapists to achieve professional accreditation.

To meet these aims we offer a wide range of services to the private, public, and voluntary sector from commercial mental health consultancy to Acorn, our low cost counselling service.

Acorn Counselling Service

Is a low cost counselling service offering personal and confidential support from trained counsellors who are on placement with us to accrue hours towards their accreditation. We offer personal and confidential support from trained counsellors.

Psychological Therapies

There are a range of therapies including computerised CBT, EMDR used in the treatment of trauma, Counselling offered face to face, telephone and Teams. This is provided by a Clinical Psychologist and experienced Counsellors.

Training

We offer several lecture demonstrations throughout the year that are suitable for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and for general interest. Many of these lectures are followed up with further training opportunities.

About

Sue Jay MBE – Founder Director

Sue has worked in mental health services within the voluntary sector since 1995. Before setting up the company Mentis Tree CIC, she was the Director of Operations for a local Mind Association. She is a trained Psychodynamic Person Centred counsellor and has a wealth of experience in service delivery and a proven track record which was recognised with the award of an MBE in 2010 for services to Mental Health Care in West Suffolk.

Peter Frewer – Managing Director

Peter joined our team as therapeutic services director in September 2022. With a extensive background in counselling and therapy he is an excellent asset to our team; whilst working extensively on our Fishwell programme.
